The FCIF study of the second book in the New
Testament, The Gospel According to Mark, is nearing the conclusion. We are all
learning new concepts and principles and are having great times studying
together. We spend over 45
minutes each Sunday studying at the tables, with 8 or more people at a
table sharing what they are learning.
This coming Sunday, July 6, we will be studying
Mark 15:1-24 where Mark describes the unlawful trial of Jesus. In this
section Mark tells us more about the key people: Pilate, Barabbas, and
the Roman soldiers. The big question: Why did the Scribes, the
Teachers of the Law, the Priests, and the Pharisees hate Jesus so much
as to arrange for such an unlawful trial and then the crucifixion?

On Sunday, June 29, we were pleased to have a very
short visit from the Milks family, missionaries living in Budapest,
Hungary. Larry and Nancy met while they were undergraduates at MSU.
After they were married, Larry worked as a mechanical engineer and then
a public school teacher and administrator, in Kalamazoo and Nancy taught
sixth grade in Vicksburg, south of Kalamazoo.

In 2001 they moved, with their three daughters, to
Budapest in order to serve as educational consultants for American
families living overseas. Larry provides educational assistance by
offering educational conferences, bringing educators to serve as
consultants.
